About Commission Work

I accept commissions for custom portrait and figurative sculptures in water-based clay with Bronze-B cold-finish patina, creating pieces that have the appearance of cast bronze. Each commission is a unique collaboration between artist and client, resulting in a one-of-a-kind work of art.

Commission Process & Timeline

Step 1: Initial Consultation (No Charge) ྕ Discuss your vision, size requirements, and reference materials ྕ Review examples of previous work ྕ Receive a detailed written quote including timeline Step 2: Commission Agreement ྕ Signed agreement specifying dimensions, materials, finish, and final price ྕ Number of revisions included (typically 2 rounds of adjustments) ྕ Estimated completion timeline (typically 8-12 weeks) Step 3: Clay Sculpture Phase ྕ Progress photos shared at key stages ྕ Client approval before proceeding to finishing Step 4: Bronze-B Patina Finish ྕ Professional cold-finish bronze application ྕ Protective sealing for longevity Step 5: Final Delivery ྕ Final balance payment ྕ Local delivery or carefully packaged shipping arranged ྕ Care instructions provided

Commission pricing is based on: ྕ Size and complexity of the sculpture ྕ Number of figures (single portrait vs. multiple subjects) ྕ Level of detail required ྕ Finishing specifications Commission pricing varies based on size and complexity. Each quote is customized to your specific project. Size Parameters: ྕ Water-based clay with Bronze-B finish: Up to 24 inches maximum ྕ Larger works: Available using Pal Tiya Premium (weatherproof cement-based sculpting medium) Representative Starting Prices: ྕ Small portrait bust (8-12 inches): Starting at $700 ྕ Life-size portrait bust (14-18 inches): Starting at $1,200 ྕ Large bust or half-figure (20-24 inches): Starting at $1,800 ྕ Pet/animal portraits (varies by size): Starting at $600 Final pricing is determined during your free consultation based on your specific requirements, dimensions, and complexity.

Payment Terms

All commissions require the following payment schedule: 50% Non-Refundable Deposit ྕ Due upon signing commission agreement ྕ Secures your spot in the commission schedule ྕ Covers materials and initial work 50% Final Payment ྕ Due before delivery or shipping ྕ Accepted payment methods: check, cash, Venmo, PayPal Important: The deposit is non-refundable once work begins. This protects both the artist's time investment and materials costs.

Cancellation & Changes

ྕ Minor adjustments during agreed revision periods: No additional charge ྕ Major design changes after clay work begins: Additional fees apply ྕ Client cancellation after work begins: Deposit is forfeited ྕ Timeline extensions due to client delays: May result in additional storage fees
